Frequently Asked Questions

  • Please reach us at info@forrestcityfencing.com if you cannot find an answer to your questions

1. What to do if the soil on my property may be rocky and hard to dig. Is that a problem?

If our machinery is unable to dig due to rocky soil and we must use a jackhammer to                dig our post holes, a rock charge

 will app

2. There are a lot of roots where I want to put my fence. Is this a problem?

We have powerful digging equipment, so roots are usually not a big deal, but occasionally a hard-digging charge may be

applied if we must jackhammer the post holes.

3. What is the best way to handle a tree in a fence line?

The best option is to remove the tree (and the stump), otherwise, we can go around it with a subtle “V”, we can build a

box around it, we can stop at the tree then start again on the other side and wrap welded wire around the tree. We just

can’t go through it!

4. Why can’t I have a specific installation date as soon as I order my fence installation?

We don’t install fence in the rain or snow, so the weather has a huge effect on our schedule, making it impossible to predict several weeks in advance exactly

where your installation date will fall. We confirm installation dates three working days in advance, but we understand that some people need more notice, and we

will work with you to set an installation date that

works for you.

5. Can my fence be installed so that there is no gap between the fence and the ground?

Your fence can be installed as close as possible to the ground, but this will affect the look of your fence, preventing a smoothly flowing fence line. It is best

to strike a balance between closeness to the ground and the look of the overall installation, then fill in gaps with soil or stone after your installation is complete.

6. Does a fence increase home value?

A fence increases home value by adding beauty and security to the property.

7. Will fence boards shrink over time?

All wood fence boards (pickets) are susceptible to shrinking, typically not more than one sixteenth of an inch.

8. Where is a fence installed when trees are on the property line?

When the property line is obstructed by trees or other vegetation, the fence must be installed on the property owners side of the trees. Installing fence on property

owned by neighbors is generally not allowed , unless the neighbor agrees to this.
